Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal called the West Island. The West Island has a lot of different communities. People who have never heard of it often confuse it with a separate, west-facing island. Amanda Brugel's birthplace has been frequently referenced, however her brief time in the city did not last long. Brugel grew-up in Courtice near Oshawa in Ontario. The first goal she had was to dance however a rapid growth rate led to her growing beyond the dancers she was with. In an article published by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. Once I was bigger than my male counterpart, I stopped. Dancers who have been in the past often switch into acting. In the case of Brugel it was the result of a recommendation from her high school drama teacher. One of her teachers suggested she take part in an audition for the annual school production. She auditioned and eventually got the leading role in Anne of Green Gables. The show was granted an Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to go to York University's Theatre Program and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts. For the last twenty years, her work has been seen on both the small and large screen. The most notable was her attention when she won her role as Rita on the award-winning TV show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale, a series that was produced over the course of ten years.
